Airbnb’s IPO is coming in the season of a pandemic. The success of Airbnb is a story like:

In Airbnb’s pitch deck for seed funding, the business model on page 1 says: “Book rooms with locals, rather than hotels.”

It was a great business idea before the pandemic. But in the post-pandemic era, the competitors are not hotels but the changes in business travel and tourism.

The journey of creating a great company is never easy. Airbnb can survive by selling Obama-labelled cereal boxes, it can make a way this time as well.
